You know, it does look like there was a puzzle piece on the floor before the newspaper appeared, and now it doesn't look like it's there. Weird. I think it's definitely worth mentioning that to the Professor, we could do with his opinion, seeing as he said that we should let him know if things are disappearing as well as appearing in the buildings. I will have a double check tomorrow though when I'm in, just to make sure that the piece really has gone. Curiouser and curiouser...

Well, we've been and checked. It's definitely not there now. From what it looks like, the pieces are just generic flowery things... but then, I never was very good at jigsaws.

They are Victorian scraps, Anna, rather than puzzle pieces, and therefore of very little value, though ephemera is increasing in price. It could simply have been put back on the bed, but without comparing each one to the photograph of the missing one you won't be able to tell, and it probably isn't worth the time. Unless one of the ASA volunteers picked it up and put it back, it's unlikely anyone else would as the barrier in that room is fairly high and well secured. How did you get on today with the washhouse? (I'm less keen on the term Brewhouse or Brew'us as although laundry coppers were used to brew beer in some households, I'm sceptical that it would still have been go in the late 19th century in Bromsgrove as by then commercial breweries and the building of more public houses and what (even when I was young) were called outdoor beer licences (off licence or pub allowed to sell alcohol for consumption away from the premises - licquor stores for those of you keeping up with our project in the US) would have made home brewing not worth the effort).

Apologies, my sentences seem to be getting longer, I hope you can keep up with my trains of thought!

I think lmcontaldi let the professor know about the missing scrap (although I think we both still referred to it as a puzzle piece over on the facebook forum. I don't think it will matter to the Professor's explanation, though) as well as the air raid precaution booklet that seems to have gone missing, and he gave Prof. Croft a link to these forums, so the prof could come here and explain his theories to us, should he be so inclined.

As previously requested, can we please have close-up shots of...
1. The book and the bits of paper next to it on the small bedroom bed. 2. Whatever is sticking out from under the rug in the small bedroom - I notice whatever it is is missing from the first photo but has appeared in the later photo. 3. The label on the kettle the fireplace of the main room.

I'll ask the girls to take some pictures of the book and pieces on the bed for you. The thing under the rug was the newspaper, there are pictures of it on page two of this thread. The label on the kettle was for a family trail. I can attest to that, because I put that there! It's just got the museum logo, the 'Ookl' logo (the technology the trail was using) and an object code for the kettle.
