We've spent a fair bit of time in that building over the last few days, and... I dunno. Something just felt off, somehow. I could swear something was different in there, but I can't tell what it was. Oh I don't know, Bea, it often seems a bit weird in loads of the buildings, partly because they're old and kind of creaky, and full of authentic stuff, but also I think when visitors are in, we can hear echoes and them walking around and stuff. I agree with you though on the moving stuff, I'm sure some people just do it for a laugh when they think nobody's watching

Urgh, I just go soaked walking home, stupid weather! No, I don't move anything around, but I'm sure that the visitors probably do when there's no staff or volunteers in there Well that explains it, I was assuming the visitors aren't allowed to touch things inside. Aren't you afraid someone will steal something?

In regards to the books on the nightstand by the utility sofa bed, what are those books and which book was opened and set back down? I'm not entirely sure, and I can check on Monday morning if you want (or more likely ask Anna, Bea and Cath to look for me!) but I think it's a Brownie (like Girl Scouts) Guide book, and a story book. They're children's books - that room is a child's bedroom, that's why it has all the toys in it. The sofa has been turned into a makeshift bed. And Azurewolf, they're not supposed to touch things. There are barriers between them and the exhibits. But you know what people are like, if you leave them alone...

But, was there anyone in there in between the time Anna took the pictures of the kitchen & toys and then Bea took them? Because I can spot a few differences, such as the rocking horse- it should be more toward the corner of the bed, and a bicycle (or baby carriage) should be near it.

Yes that's a good catch Leina, I think it was over by the dresser as I can see the handle of what I assume is a baby carriage and the leg of the dresser matches the one in the pic, if so it was moved what seems to be 3-4 feet. Definitely the biggest change. But it would be easy for a visitor to move that. I wonder Bea if you could be more specific about your feeling? And just to satisfy our curiosity, what is that piece of note paper that was moved? img193.imageshack.us/img193/9338/notepaper.jpg

We weren't very busy yesterday afternoon. I don't think that many people would have been in the prefab in that last hour or so. I don't know how to describe the feeling... sort of like something was there that wasn't there before, perhaps? I'm not always the best at noticing things, it could be something that someone else would notice right away, you know, if you were there. I'm not sure about the notepaper, but I'll check first thing Monday for you.

There's an 85 Moat Ln., Birmingham, close to Yardley...could that be the original site, or is it just a coincidence? Yep, that's the original site! Yardley is a district of Birmingham, for those that don't know the area. There are some nice aerial shots of the place on google maps, though sadly google street view seems to have skipped that little section of Moat Lane so you can't get a street level view, which is a shame. Bea, if you're worried I can come down with you Monday morning and have a look around to see if I can see anything out of the ordinary in the Prefab; I daresay I know the building a bit better than you guys, having been here a bit longer! Of course, if you can spot something specific in the pictures before hand so I know what we're looking for, all the better.

Hi folks - quick question. The original batch of pictures seems to have old timestamps; mostly from 2005, one from 2008. The second batch has recent timestamps. Are the first batch from old photo sessions or something?

Do they? They were definitely all taken last week. We used a couple of different cameras, if that makes any difference? I don't know much about cameras really I'm afraid... but the pictures were definitely taken last week. Unless we travelled to the past or something, haha!

We had to replace the batteries in one of the cameras, if that's relevant at all?
We definitely weren't taking pictures in 2005 - I don't think I'd even heard of Avoncroft in 2005!

Maybe something HAS changed, or there's something there that shouldn't be, or wasn't there before or something. That's kind of creepy...*shudder*

You guys are so technologically inept, and you say I'm the one that can't turn a computer on! You need to set the time and date on the camera, silly. Otherwise you get random dates. I've fixed them now I think... hopefully no more photos from 2005, haha. Anyway, Sarah came down with me to the Prefab this morning. You won't believe what we found, it's very odd. I knew something wasn't quite right in those other photos. Sarah spotted it right away of course... made me feel really stupid that I hadn't! If I didn't have photographic evidence it was there last week I wouldn't believe it. and the inside: I don't know what to make of it. Totally bizarre thing to find lying around in the middle of a room! Some kid's craft project, by the look of it, but still a weird thing to see there. I also took a couple of pictures of the little note thing in the bedroom that you were interested in, since you asked nicely.

That card is well odd. O.o Anyway, we've got it up in the office at the moment... though I'm not sure if maybe we should leave it where it was? Maybe someone will come back for it or something. What do you guys think? And Bea, trust you to photograph something about nail care.

Only because everyone was asking so nicely - honest!

Wow that birthday card is weird. The writing on the inside's a little hard to read, it says "Lots of love from, Phoenix" right? Any idea who Phoenix is?? Also who in the world could Phoenix's mom be? Is there anything in that Prefab that's near 130 years old?
Also, I noticed another oddity last night but neglected to post it. In the pic of the sofa bed there is a chair with a flowered pattern. In the original pic it has a chain draped across one corner and in the more recent pic it's not there.
